Waterlox Original Clear Satin Wood Finish, 1 Quart is our oldest and truly original product, crafted since 1910. This finish is made with 90% of its resin portion derived from renewable, natural resources, reflecting our commitment to sustainability. When applied with a Waterlox sealer, this formula penetrates deeply into wood fibers to create a waterproof barrier while forming a durable yet elastic film that withstands everyday household use and foot traffic. It is easier to maintain than other interior clear or surface finishes and is non-toxic once fully cured. Handcrafted in small batches by a fourth-generation family-owned company in Cleveland, Ohio, this finish is perfect for a variety of interior wood surfaces including floors, windows, doors, cabinetry, woodwork, tables, furniture, bar tops, picture frames, and woodworking projects. It also works wonderfully on porous interior surfaces such as slate, brick, stone, tile, or cement to seal and prevent chalking and dusting. Additionally, it provides exceptional adhesion to oily, dense, exotic woods like teak, rosewood, and ipe. One quart covers approximately 125 square feet per coat, with no thinning required. Dry time between coats is a minimum of 24 hours, though poor ventilation, high humidity, or cool temperatures may extend this time. The solvent-based, resin-modified tung oil finish delivers a beautiful warm amber tone that enhances the natural beauty of wood.
