Its wider flutes maximize chip removal, even in deep holes, while the polished and coated flute finish prevents chips from sticking, even when working with materials that contain sap or glue. The through-center cutting design provides a more solid striking point against nails compared to other designs that are ahead-of-center or behind-center.
